Winter Weather Advisory

Thursday, March 5, 9:20 a.m.: The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning that includes sleet and freezing rain for Tuscaloosa County until 3 p.m. on Thursday. While road conditions on the campus currently remain clear and road temperatures are above freezing, UA will suspend classes, normal operations and events from 11 a.m. through Thursday evening, March 5. A decision about Friday classes, normal operations and events will be announced at 6 a.m. on Friday. The University strongly encourages each person to monitor weather updates from the National Weather Service and local media sources. Safety tips and weather information are posted at Persons traveling outside the UA area should check the Alabama Department of Transportation website at for road conditions to their destination. If you cannot travel to campus safely, please notify your professor or supervisor.
