UA Presents Screening of Documentary Celebrating Chinese Culture

The University of Alabama’s Center for Community-Based Partnerships will host a viewing of “The Dialogue,” an hour-long documentary championing international culture, at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 14, at the Global Café on University Boulevard.

The First Scholars Program at The University of Alabama is holding an animal food and supplies drive through Friday, Nov. 15, to benefit the Alabama SPCA. UA to Honor Veterans, Active Military With Events

The University of Alabama will honor students and individuals who served their country in the armed forces with activities from Saturday, Nov. 9, to Friday, Nov. 15, including a ceremony Monday, Nov. 11, for Veterans Day.

PNC Foundation Awards Grants to UA to Promote Early Childhood Education

The PNC Foundation has awarded grants totaling $30,000 to The University of Alabama to promote and support early childhood education in West Alabama.

UA Holds Event Celebrating Women in Sciences, Engineering and Mathematics

The University of Alabama’s Women in STEM Experience initiative will host its second Pathways to Success conference from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, in Shelby Hall on campus. The conference will offer support, encouragement and education to women who are juniors, seniors and graduate students majoring in science, technology, engineering and math-related fields.

Accreditation Team Invites Public Comment Related to UA Police

As part of a voluntary accreditation assessment, employees of The University of Alabama Police Department and community members are invited to offer comments related to the department on Tuesday, Nov. 5, at 2 p.m. in the Bryant Denny Stadium recruiting room on the UA campus.

UA Offers Community Development Lecture by Author, City Planner

The University of Alabama Honors College and Center for Ethics and Social Responsibility will host a lecture by author Jeff Speck at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 4, at the Dinah Washington Cultural Arts Center. Speck, an internationally known city planner and architectural designer, will be discussing the importance of walkability to a downtown community.

UA Sororities to Host Trick-or-Treat for Area Children

The University of Alabama’s Panhellenic Association will host the annual Sorority Row Trick-or-Treat from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29. Children from the Tuscaloosa area ages 12 and younger are invited to dress up in Halloween costumes and visit the lawns of the campus sorority houses on Magnolia and Colonial drives for candy and activities.
