A Rousing Reception

President Trump received a rousing reception at Bryant-Denny Stadium at the University of Alabama this weekend. The president was there to attend the Alabama-LSU college football game. The stadium, which seats nearly 102,000, is one of the world’s largest. You can watch the brief video here. Incredibly, some reports suggested the president got a mixed reaction from the crowd. Fox News described it as “mostly warm.” If by mixed or “mostly warm” they mean 100,000 people were cheering while a few hundred weren’t, I suppose that’s “mixed.”
Stephen Moore, commentator and former Trump economic adviser, to speak at UA Tuesday

Stephen Moore, a conservative commentator who served as an economic advisor during Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential run, will visit the University of Alabama Tuesday for a lecture. During the lecture, Moore will speak about his experiences working in Washington, as well as his views on economics and politics. The event will start at 7 p.m. in room 1016 of North Lawn Hall at UA. The lecture is being hosted by the Young Americans for Freedom at UA.
NASA, University of Alabama collaborate on in-space manufacturing

NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama, is expanding its partnership with the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa to collaborate on advanced and in-space manufacturing. Marshall Director Jody Singer and Alabama President Stuart Bell signed a memorandum of understanding on Wednesday, Nov. 6, in the university’s Rose Administration Building shortly before the Space Days at UA official kickoff.
Suffrage Centennial Kickoff emphasizes potential for progress

Passionate panelists participated in a discussion on the status of women in politics as part of the Women and Gender Resource Center’s (WGRC) Women’s Suffrage Centennial Kickoff. The panel consisted of Tuscaloosa City Councilwoman Raeven Howard, Regina Wagner of The University of Alabama’s political science department and Stacie Propst, executive director of Emerge Alabama. In attendance were the University of Alabama students and community members, SGA members and representatives of organizations related to women and policy.
