In many cases, use of a UA rental vehicle is more economical than departmental reimbursement for personal vehicle use.
UA Fleet Services offers a motor pool of 55 rental vehicles available for University-related business travel. Those planning to travel should consult the travel calculator to determine the most economical means of travel.
Daily, weekly and monthly rentals are currently offered by Fleet Services and rental rates as well as driving requirements can be found on the Fleet Services website. The motor pool is comprised of sedans, SUVs, 7-passenger minivans and 12-passenger vans.
Rentals are also available for travel by student groups with the approval of their faculty/staff adviser.
In addition, Fleet Services also offers short- and long-term lease options for departmental use. For a monthly fee, Fleet Services leases the vehicle to the department and covers all maintenance and insurance costs. The lease program allows departments all the privileges of vehicle ownership without the capital expense of a vehicle purchase and burden of budgeting for vehicle maintenance. Departments also have the option of sharing vehicle privileges and cost sharing the lease rate.
