Renovations to Rose Administration Building Improve Access

Construction specifically related to Americans With Disabilities Act-compliant access has begun at Rose Administration Building. Work is expected to continue until early January 2020.

The west wheelchair ramp at the front of Rose has been demolished, while the east ramp will remain operational until Monday, Dec. 16. Temporary directional signage has been placed for sidewalk detours. Barriers have been placed on the south side of the building to reserve a safe route for ADA access down the ramp and into the building.

Anyone requiring assistance with ADA access should call Security Resources at 205-348-9494.

Nov. 24 through Dec. 16

Until Monday, Dec. 16, the main lobby of Rose – including three sets of main entrance doors — will be closed. The front west entry door will remain open during this time. Temporary construction walls will be in place around the lobby, and signage will direct foot traffic to the elevator and stairs.

Dec. 16 through Jan. 2, 2020

Starting Monday, Dec. 16, the east ramp will close. From Monday, Dec. 16, to Jan. 1, 2020, all front entrance doors, including the front west entry door, will be closed. Signs will direct all pedestrian traffic to the rear of the building, and those entrances will be used through Dec. 20. Signage will direct foot traffic to the elevator and stairs.

Construction is expected to end by Jan. 2, 2020, when normal operations will resume. The west ADA ramp will have temporary handrails until late spring 2020.
