Scary Science, Ghost Walks and Lots of Candy: Halloween 2019

They’re free, they’re fun, they’re back again this year — UA’s Halloween events for the Tuscaloosa community. See below for details such as time, place and age limits. And while service animals are welcome, please refrain from bringing other pets to these events.

Halloween Extravaganza

Monday, Oct. 28, 6:30-8 p.m., at Crisp Indoor Practice Facility. For children ages 13 and under, and their families. Costumes are not only allowed, but encouraged!

This event, sponsored by the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, is a perennial favorite for the Tuscaloosa community. Bring your child for an evening of fun and games with UA’s student-athletes. While the Halloween Extravaganza is free, nonperishable food donations for the Beat Auburn Beat Hunger food drive are welcome.

A Haunting at the Museum

Tuesday, Oct. 29, 5:30-8:30 p.m., Alabama Museum of Natural History. All ages welcome. Costumes? Of course!

Is the UA campus really haunted? Decide for yourself on the guided, candlelit walk around the Quad, starting from Smith Hall and making its way to the Gorgas House. Hear some ghost stories and enjoy spooky crafts.

Sorority Row Trick or Treat

Tuesday, Oct. 29, starts at 6 p.m. For children ages 12 and under. No masks or realistic looking weapons, but costumes encouraged. No pets other than service animals. Foot traffic only. Lots of candy!

Children can visit the lawns of sorority houses on Magnolia, Colonial and Judy Bonner drives. Members of the Alabama Panhellenic Association, National Pan-Hellenic Council and the United Greek Council will hand out candy until 8 p.m. or until the goodies run out.

To keep this a safe and fun event for everyone, it’s foot traffic only: no cars, bicycles, skateboards or hover boards are allowed.

In case of rain or other inclement weather, the event may be canceled.
