Register Now for Take Our Children to Work Day

Take Your Children to Work Day flyerUA’s annual day for faculty, staff and students with children ages 8-18 is set for Nov. 25. Register by Nov. 11.

Take Our Children to Work Day features guest speakers, breakout sessions and lunch. Parents should plan to accompany their children for an entire day of activities that help them meet new friends and learn about The University of Alabama.

To participate, employees must have permission from their immediate supervisor. Use of annual leave time to attend the event is at the supervisor’s discretion.

Students with classes on Nov. 25 must have permission from those instructors.

“Parents needing a letter of explanation for their supervisors or professors can request it from the WGRC,” said Allison Kumar, program coordinator for the Women and Gender Resource Center. Send questions to her at akumar24@ua.edu.

Nov. 25 is the beginning of Thanksgiving break for Tuscaloosa city and county schools. For children in private schools in session on that day, WGRC will provide a letter to the principal, who will decide whether the absence is excused.

Sponsors for this year’s Take Our Children to Work Day are the Women and Gender Resource Center, Ferguson Student Center and the Professional Staff Assembly.
