Open Forums for Honors College Dean Search Begin Next Week

Three candidates vying to be the next dean of The University of Alabama’s Honors College will make presentations to the campus community the week of Oct. 21.

Presentation dates, times and locations:

  • Oct. 21, 247 Bryant Hall, 1:30-2:45 p.m.
  • Oct. 24, 247 Bryant Hall, 1-2:15 p.m.
  • Oct. 25, 216 Reese Phifer Hall, 1-2:15 p.m.

Each candidate will give a 30-minute presentation on their background, philosophy of honors education and vision for UA’s Honors College. A 30- to 45-minute question-and-answer session will follow.

The next dean will outline a vision for continuing the Honors College mission and enhancing the programs that are the hallmark of its nationally recognized undergraduate honors curriculum.

For those who can’t attend the open forums, video of the candidates’ presentations will be posted a day or two after each presentation on the search website. Feedback forms for each candidate will also be posted on the same webpage.

Feedback on the candidates is very important to the search process and is requested by the search committee.
