What are faculty like outside their classrooms? What kinds of research are they and your fellow students doing?

The Faculty Research Showcase provides an opportunity to learn more about campus research opportunities available to students.

Find answers to these questions and more at the Faculty Research Showcase Nov. 8 from noon to 1:30 p.m. in the Ferguson Center Ballroom. Students are invited to meet faculty and graduate and undergraduate students already conducting research to learn more about available campus research opportunities.

“This is the first time we’ve hosted this event,” said Dr. Kim Bissell, director of UA’s Office of Undergraduate Research and a professor in the College of Communication and Information Sciences. “It’s a great, quick way for students to learn more about ways to engage in learning outside the classroom.

“It’s also a good way to find another intellectually challenging opportunity, and it could lead to finding a lifetime scholarly mentor.”

About 50 faculty members from a wide range of disciplines are expected to attend. More information is available here, or contact Bissell at kbissell@ua.edu.
