The University’s Work-Life and Wellness Expo caters to faculty, staff, their spouses and UA retirees.

Before the Expo

The Expo will take place Oct. 9 at Coleman Coliseum and runs from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. There is a lot to do and see, so plan your visit with the help of the Expo Map.

Remember your ACT Card or a photo ID for admittance to the Expo. If you want to participate in a free health screening, then also bring your Blue Cross and Blue Shield insurance card.

Parking at the Coliseum that day will be limited. Walking to the Coliseum is a great way to get your exercise or track your FitBit steps, but you can also take the Crimson and Crimson Express buses. Use Transloc to see where those buses are in real time.

Get an inside look at how the Expo works by volunteering for a few hours. Set up, escort exhibitors, greet your co-workers, distribute refreshments or clean up after the Expo. Volunteer registration is open now.

At the Expo

Group Exercise

Try something new! From 8:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. you can drop in for a 15-minute group exercise session on the main floor of Coleman Coliseum. Choose between a rotation of strength, cardio and stretch-at-your-desk classes with University Recreation.

Hands-on Health Demonstrations

These demonstrations all qualify as WellBAMA group sessions. Swipe your ACT Card for WellBAMA credit when you check in. Each 20- to 30-minute event will be offered in the C.M. Newton Room. Some will be offered back to back. Topics include CPR, child passenger car safety, Medicare FAQs and how credit scores work.

Free Health Screenings

In addition to the annual flu shots, hearing and vision screenings, blood pressure checks and EKGs, this year’s Expo includes a free body mass index screening and a free skin analysis.

Benefits-eligible employees can also earn $50 in WellBAMA rewards by completing a WellBAMA health screening. Register and select the Oct. 9 screening at Coleman Coliseum.

Exhibitors

Child care, elder care, fitness centers, health care providers, financial institutions and more – these vendors can help you with work-life balance by filling needs for your busy life. Find what you are looking for among the 80-plus display tables.

Food Options

Free food samples and refreshments will be offered to all Expo participants who present a paper coupon to caterers located in the concession windows throughout Coleman Coliseum.

Make sure you have your coupons to receive:

  • Frutta Bowls — one sample smoothie bowl topped with granola and fruit
  • Taziki’s Mediterranean Café — one sample cup of pasta with grilled chicken, tomatoes, feta and basil
  • Newk’s Eatery — one cup of chicken salad or pimento cheese with crackers and breadsticks

Local food trucks will be parked around the Coliseum.
