Retirement-Plan Changes: Webinars and Meetings Available

Retirement-Plan Changes: Webinars and Meetings Available

The University of Alabama System is making changes to its voluntary retirement plans.

On Aug. 21, transition guides detailing the upcoming changes to the 403(b) and 457(b) plans were mailed to participants. Employees should have received one transition guide if they participate only with TIAA or VALIC, while participants with balances at both vendors will receive two guides. In addition to the guides, TIAA financial consultants will conduct webinars and on-site meetings to explain the plan changes and answer questions and to offer tips on accessing and managing accounts.

To attend a session, employees should click the registration link next to the session they wish to attend. Two types of presentations will be offered: a general session about the plan changes and a session for VALIC participants explaining the transition of their funds. Employees should take the transition guides with them to follow along with the presentation. A recording of the information covered in the webinar sessions will be made available for 30 days for anyone who misses the presentations or wants to review the information again.
