Participants Wanted for Inaugural Faculty Research Showcase

The Office for Undergraduate Research and the Office of Research and Economic Development want members of the faculty to participate in the inaugural Faculty Research Showcase.

Held on Friday, Nov. 8, from noon to 1:30 p.m. in the Ferguson Center Ballroom, the event highlights research opportunities to undergraduate students at The University of Alabama.

“This event is designed to introduce undergraduates to the diversity of research conducted at UA and allow students to network with faculty,” said Dr. Kim Bissell, director of the Office of Undergraduate Research and professor in the College of Communication and Information Sciences.

Participating faculty members will get a table in the Ferguson Center Ballroom, and can send graduate and undergraduate students from their labs to talk to students about their work.

“You do not have to present a specific research project; rather, we’d like for you to be able to discuss the type of research you do, so any and all material you want to have with you is fine,” Bissell said.

Direct questions to Jackie Harrison at  jharrison@ua.edu or Bissell at kbissell@ua.edu.

Faculty and staff should submit registration via Google form by Oct. 31.
