The Vuorovesi Trio, comprised of UA faculty Diane Boyd Schultz (flute), Osiris Molina (clarinet) and Mary Lindsey Bailey (oboe), performed in the Grand Gallery of Smith Hall on July 22.
The trio was formed in 2018 and performs classical pieces with modern influences.
According to the performers, a music performance in the Grand Gallery is a rare occurrence.
“Music has always been a part of my life and is as integral to my being as breathing — I literally can’t imagine living without it,” said Bailey. “I love performing and teaching others how the oboe allows them to express themselves without the barriers of spoken language.”
The trio has upcoming performances in Florida, Tennessee and Utah.
