UA Info Radio Now Brings You Campus News, Music and Events

A new radio station, launched April 1 by the Office of Emergency Management and Division of Strategic Communications, is now providing information about The University of Alabama to students, faculty, staff and visitors.

The station, 92.5 FM UA Info Radio, will broadcast safety information during severe weather events or other emergency events that may affect the UA campus. During major campus events, such as football game days and commencement ceremonies, UA Info Radio will also provide important traffic, parking and safety information.

“We started discussing the possibility of using a radio station to distribute emergency information to the campus community even before the April 27, 2011 tornado struck Tuscaloosa,” said Dr. Donald Keith, director of Emergency Management at UA. “We know of no other colleges or universities who have a radio station dedicated to broadcasting campus and safety information.”

In addition to University news, history and safety tips, UA Info Radio will provide information about campus events such as concerts, lectures, and theater and dance performances that are open to the public.

UA Info Radio covers the University campus, and Tuscaloosa and Northport areas. Listen at 92.5 FM, by clicking here, or on the UA Safety app. For questions about the station, email uainforadio@ua.edu.
