Connect with Student Entrepreneurs, Content Creators

Do you consider yourself to be someone with creative capital but find it hard to network and build relationships with other creatives on campus? If the answer is yes, Millennial Move Makers: The Conference is just for you.

Event organizers hope UA’s creative community will come together to create and collaborate.

The first-of-its-kind event takes place March 3 from noon to 4 p.m. at the Ferguson Student Center and will bring together student entrepreneurs, influencers and content creators.

“Students who attend this event can expect an overwhelming sense of belonging and acceptance,” said Betty Jean Bowles, conference founder and head of operations. “While putting together this conference, above all, my team and I wanted to make sure that each person was given the same, even playing field to network with other creatives on campus. We want to create an atmosphere of collaboration and not competition.”

The schedule includes a keynote address by UA alumna Alicia Gettys, a panel discussion featuring UA students and plenty of opportunities to network with fellow attendees. Students selected for the panel currently have a small business, YouTube channel or are content creators.

According to Bowles, the conference is for all students who have an interest in the subject matter, not just those in particular majors.

“I hope that everyone leaves from the conference with a sense of self-importance,” said Bowles. “We should build each other as creators and not play the game of who is more popular than the other. UA’s creative community needs to come together to create and collaborate.”

The conference is free but students must register online before Feb. 28 at 5 p.m. To learn more about the event and RSVP, visit www.mmmkers.com.
