W-2 Tax Documents, Truth in Salary Statement Information Coming

Truth in Salary Statement

The 2018 Truth in Salary Statement is a summary of employee and retirement benefits for the fiscal year Oct. 1, 2017, through Sept. 30, 2018. State law requires this information be provided to employees on a fiscal year basis in paper and electronic, or online, forms. The paper statement will be sent to the employee’s current mailing address on file in Banner and should arrive in postal mailboxes beginning next week.

A more detailed version of the statement is currently available online. To access the online version, employees should log in to myBama, click the Employee Tab, then click the Truth In Salary link.

Employees who do not receive their paper statement, or have questions about the statement, should contact the HR Service Center at 205-348-7732 or hrsvctr@ua.edu.

W-2 Tax Document

By Jan. 31, employees will also have access to their W-2 tax document online through myBama. To access it, employees should log in to myBama, click the Employee Tab, click on the Employee Services folder, and then click on Tax Forms and click on the W-2 Wage and Tax statement.

Unless an employee has consented to receive this document electronically, he or she will also receive a copy in the mail.
