RESEARCH

UA AWARDED GRANT TO TEST DEMENTIA CAREGIVER APP – A national healthcare agency has funded a joint project between UA and Florida International University to test the efficacy of “CareHeroes,” a web and mobile application designed for dementia caregivers. The app is designed to improve communication between physicians providing dementia care and caregivers. The app also aims to decrease caregiver burden and depression symptoms, which they often experience due to the stress of caregiving. The $300,000 grant will allow researchers to test the app with more than 60 participants.
