UA MUSEUMS’ EXHIBIT HIGHLIGHTS TUSCALOOSA’S EARLY HISTORY UA Museums’ Tuscaloosa Bicentennial Exhibit Series showcases the history of the city learned from recent archaeological excavations of the Bank of the State site in downtown Tuscaloosa where the Embassy Suites hotel now stands. The exhibition, Tuscaloosa and the Capital Period, is the first installment of the series and is in partnership with the Tuscaloosa Bicentennial Commission. UA TO OFFER STATE’S FIRST MFA IN DANCE UA’s department of theatre and dance will offer the state’s first Master of Fine Arts in dance program starting in fall 2020. The program, which will use the 2019-20 academic year to recruit and audition prospective students, will provide training in advanced studies in dance, prepare graduates for employment in the dance profession and provide credentials needed for employment and teaching positions that require a graduate-level degree. CONCERTS ON CAMPUS – UA’s School of Music is presenting several concerts this week to wrap up the semester. The University Chorus & Chamber Choir will present a concert at 7:30 Tuesday, Nov. 27. The Huxford Symphony Orchestra presents Leonard Bernstein’s Symphony No. 2 and Igor Stravinsky’s “The Rite of Spring” at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28. University Singers & Women’s Chorus will perform at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov 29. Tickets for each event,  all held at the Moody Music Building Concert Hall, are $10 general admission, $5 seniors and $3 students.
