Napa’s academic phenomenon plans to graduate from university at age 17

Isaac Kearns-Montanez is not your average college student. For one thing, he started college at age 11, when he enrolled at Solano Community College. The Napa native also took classes at Napa Valley College while a student at First Christian school and then St. Apollinaris school … Now age 16, Isaac is a senior at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. By this spring — when he’s barely 17 — he’ll graduate. He will be the youngest to ever do so at the southern university, according to the school.

Program gives Central students course in self-confidence
Tuscaloosa News – Nov. 28
Katherine Baxter wants to make sure her fourth-grade students possess the keys to success once they leave the classroom … Wednesday’s activities were just one round of the competition. On Dec. 14, students will go to the next round at the University of Alabama, where professors and students will ask students questions, judging their professionalism, how they conduct themselves in addition to other team exercises. In January, students will go to the next round at TCS’ Central Office, where they will shadow employees for a couple of hours to learn about what it is like to work for a school system.
