Nominate Students, Employees for UA’s Highest Honors by Dec. 1

Premier Award

The greatest contributions are worthy of the highest honors. For The University of Alabama family, those honors are the Premier Awards.

There are those who come to work and school and do what’s expected of them.

And then, there are those who perform over and beyond their duties, executing their tasks with exceptional ardor.

To recognize those extraordinary students, faculty and staff, The University of Alabama created the Premier Awards in 1928 as the University’s highest honor, bestowed annually on a select few.

Now through Dec. 1, the University is accepting nominations for the Premier Awards. Students, faculty and staff who believe they are qualified are strongly encouraged to apply, or to nominate someone else.

Each of the six awards celebrates distinct areas of excellence and embodies the ideals of the Capstone’s highest standards of scholarship, citizenship and service.

Students can apply for all six awards. Faculty, staff and campus partners can nominate UA faculty, staff and departments for the Bonner, Mayer and Sullivan awards.

William P. and Estan J. Bloom Award: Honors a current junior for improving relations, understanding and interaction among groups for a common cause.

Judy Bonner Award: Recognizes a student, employee or organization for extraordinary contributions for going above and beyond in positively advancing the Alabama experience for students by changing student culture or implementing new initiatives at the Capstone.

Morris Lehman Mayer: Honors a current graduating senior or a teaching faculty member who exemplifies Mayer’s life of selflessness and service leadership to the University.

Catherine J. Randall: Esteems a current graduating senior who has done outstanding scholarly work at UA based upon GPA, rigor of study and creative endeavor.

Algernon Sydney Sullivan: Recognizes two current graduating seniors and one non-student for their demonstrated excellence of character, high standard of scholarship, leadership and service to humanity.
