The Office of First Year Experience and Retention Initiatives is looking for faculty and staff to be mentors for incoming first-generation students as part of the Legacy Scholars Program.
Legacy Scholars is a specialized program designed to build a community of freshmen who are starting a new legacy as the first in their families to go to college. Students will be matched with a faculty or staff member to help support their transition to UA and act as a resource for their first year.
Faculty and staff willing to mentor one student at least one hour a month for the 2018-19 academic year should complete the short interest form.
Forms should be submitted by Sept. 14 so matches can be made in advance of the Mentor-Mentee Meet & Greet on Wednesday, Sept. 26, at 5 p.m. in the Ferguson Student Center Great Hall.
