University of Alabama receives largest donation in school history

The University of Alabama announced its biggest donation in school history Monday. Marillyn A. Hewson, chairman, president and CEO of Lockheed Martin Corp., and her husband, James Hewson, pledged $15 million to the university to go towards the Culverhouse College of Business.

UA to hold summer graduation exercises

The University of Alabama will award degrees to 1,450 students Saturday during summer commencement exercises. The ceremony will begin at 9 a.m. at Coleman Coliseum on the UA campus. Undergraduate and graduate students from all colleges and schools will participate in the ceremony, which should last about two hours.

University of Alabama opens $15M dining hall for athletes

A dining hall for athletes has opened at the University of Alabama. The $15 million Alabama Athletics Dining Facility is now serving the school’s student athletes, reports the Tuscaloosa News. The 25,000-square-foot facility includes two floors with outdoor patios, 50 flat-screen TV’s, 10 cook-to-order stations and a fuel center for snacks and shakes.
