Move-in and Sorority Recruitment to Affect Parking and Traffic

It’s that time of year. Students are traveling back to UA, their home away from home. Here’s the latest information on traffic patterns.

Move-In

Move-In Day

The early move-in period, which is Aug. 8-10, will affect certain parking areas on campus. The Magnolia Parking Deck could see an increase in orange residential parking passes due to the use of the Tutwiler parking lot for move-in operations. The Tutwiler parking lot will open for orange residential parking beginning at 5 p.m. on Aug. 10.

During freshman move-in, traffic will be unable to travel southbound on Old Hackberry Lane from Jack Warner Parkway. All lanes of traffic will be used on Old Hackberry Lane between Hackberry Lane and Abercrombie Lane for Presidential 1 and 2 and Riverside move-in.

Dates of impact will be Aug. 9-10 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Aug. 17-18 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Aug. 19 from 1-5 p.m. Use Hackberry Lane if traveling to campus from Jack Warner Parkway.

Sorority Recruitment

Vehicular traffic will be greatly affected in the areas around Moore Hall, Little Hall, Doster Hall and Rose Administration Building from Aug. 6-19 during sorority recruitment.
