A bunch of graduates in a line at commencement

Commencement Volunteers Needed

Each year, UA celebrates more than 8,000 graduates at its commencement ceremonies. The Division of Strategic Communications would like your help in creating a memorable experience for these graduates and their families by volunteering at the Aug. 4 ceremony.

Volunteer assignments include greeting attendees, handing out programs, lining up graduate candidates, coliseum and practice field breakdown, directing graduate candidates on and off stage and back to their seats, answering general questions prior to the event and more. The amount of physical activity required will vary. Volunteers will be given detailed assignment instructions the day of the event, and they should be prepared to work about four hours.

Prospective volunteers are invited to learn more at a free lunch Tuesday, July 17 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in G55 Rose Administration Building. RSVP to commencement@ua.edu or 205-348-2662.
