UA exhibit celebrates women

An exhibit showcasing women whose contributions and achievements have had an impact on the University of Alabama will open Friday at the Gorgas House Museum on campus. The “Women of the Tide: 125 Years of Women at The University of Alabama” exhibit will be on display through Sept. 28 at the Gorgas House Museum. The exhibit is part of UA’s 125 Years of Women, a yearlong celebration to honor women on campus through awareness, education, service and special events. The celebration marks the quasquicentennial of women’s admission to the university as students in 1893.
Panhellenic awards scholarship winners

The Fort Bend County Alumnae Panhellenic awarded $3,250 in scholarships to four young women from the community who are all members of their respective NPC Sorority chapters … Lanie Malek, a member of Delta Gamma at The University of Alabama, was awarded a $750 scholarship.
UA swimmer warms up by recreating Beyonce’s dance

A pretty funny video that’s now trending out of Alabama, where one college swimmer has got some sweet dance moves. University of Alabama swimmer, Christian Stryker, is making waves on campus after breaking out these epic dance moves, before a recent swim meet. The 19-year-old paid no mind to his competitors as he recreated one of Beyonce’s dance routines! Stryker shared the video on twitter.

At the University of Alabama Apple Watch becomes a student card

Among the novelties of watchOS 5, Apple Watch operating system that will be available in the autumn as a free update for Apple Watch Series 1 and later, the possibility to replace the student identification cards … Apple explained that the program will be launched with Duke University, the University of Alabama (UA) and the University of Oklahoma this fall.

Madison J Spencer of North Reading was named to The University of Alabama Dean’s List for spring 2018. A total of 11,347 students enrolled during the 2018 spring semester at UA were named to the Dean’s List with an academic record of 3.5 or above or the President’s List with an academic record of 4.0 (all A’s).
