Faculty and staff across the entire UA System are invited to attend the 2018 UA System Scholars Institute May 10-11 at The University of Alabama at Birmingham. This year’s theme is “Using Technology to Collaborate through Leadership, Teaching, Research and Scholarship.”
The event is free for faculty and staff; however, registration is required.
Since 2004, the UA System Scholars Institute has been hosted by one of the UA System campuses, rotating between UA, UAB and UAH. The Scholars Institute supports systemwide collaboration and encourages a shared community of knowledge for implementing best practices into the use of technology in the teaching, learning and research processes.
The Institute is an important professional development initiative for faculty in their use of technology in teaching and learning, particularly in support of the adaptation and use of new approaches to teaching with technology.
Presentations emphasize quality, evidence of impact, tools, and pedagogical and practical approaches. The Institute also provides hands-on opportunities for practice and implementation of classroom and online tools.
