Naval Oceanography Partners with University of Alabama for Precise Timing Educational Program

The Naval Meteorology and Oceanography Command and the University of Alabama signed an educational partnership agreement to create and maintain a Joint Precise Timing Applied Science Program (JPTASP) at the university’s campus in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

The University of Alabama’s Nursing school is looking to expand not only because of the demand but the need for more space. The dean of the program said they’ve only been in their building for seven years and they have already outgrown it.
 
Alabama secures patent for sideline medical tent

Nick Saban is making an impact in the NFL without even being there. Alabama’s sideline medical tent, which was adopted in 2017 by the NFL, has received a patent. The SidelinER was used not only by the NFL but by many college football programs this past season. Developed by engineering students at Alabama, the value comes from its ability to be quickly assembled and taken down, and from its portable nature.

One convention hall area was packed with everything from chip-embedded, alphabet-like coding blocks to turtle-like tanks that draw on command …But experts like Jeff Gray, a computer science professor at the University of Alabama and an adviser to the nonprofit coding education group Code.org, say kids can derive other benefits from coding robots and similar toys.

Because according to a recent study by the University of Alabama , a tattoo helps to snort. The study showed that people with multiple tattoos are better able to fight infections than people whose skin is free of ink. The researchers looked at the number of tattoos that people had and how long it took to have them put.

TMS holding Warrior Wellness Night

Thompson Middle School will be looking to provide parents with valuable information covering everything from substance abuse to bullying during the upcoming Warrior Wellness Night. The event, which was organized as a result of TMS participating in the University of Alabama Parent Teacher Leadership Academy this year, will be held on March 1 at the school. Dinner will be served at 5 p.m., and sessions will be from 6-8 p.m.
