Showcase to Feature Simulation Technology, Jazz Documentary

Faculty from across campus will be exhibiting their teaching and research as it relates to innovative technologies Friday, Feb. 23, at this year’s UA Faculty Technology Showcase from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. in A-232 Gordon Palmer Hall.

Faculty from the colleges of Communication and Information Sciences, Commerce and Business Administration, Arts and Sciences, Nursing, and several other colleges and departments will give short presentations focusing on the use of technology in their research and classrooms. Presentations will be in the form of electronic poster sessions that will last approximately 50 minutes each.

Meridith Rice and Dr. Ashleigh Woods from the Capstone College of Nursing will be presenting simulation technologies used in the clinical environment. Dr. Sharony Green of the College of Arts and Sciences history department will present her jazz documentary and how she used multimedia technology for the project.

The goal of the showcase is to provide an opportunity for the UA community to share how technology is being used across campus. The FRC invites nominated administrators, faculty, staff or graduate students who incorporate technology in both innovative and practical ways that enhance teaching and learning, assist with research, and/or increase professional productivity to present.
