SGA Announces Election Dates, Open Seats

Do you want to be part of the spring 2018 SGA elections? Here’s what you should know.

As the 2018 Student Government Elections period draws near, the SGA Elections Board has implemented a new Elections Manual, as well as released all time-sensitive dates important to this year’s election.

Please note the definition of “class day” as referenced in both the Elections Manual as well as the Student Code of Contact refers to “days” as to which are construed as calendar days that run consecutively (i.e., a class day is defined as Monday through Friday when classes are in session) and all times noted herein are Central.

Executive positions include president, executive vice president, vice president for student affairs, vice president for academic affairs, vice president for financial affairs, vice president for external affairs and executive secretary.

Important Dates

Statement of Intent/Candidate Application: closes Feb. 19 by 11:59 p.m.

Debate Host/Sponsorship Form: Feb. 19 by 11:59 p.m.

Election Day: March 6, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Run-Off: March 7, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
