Passport and Fingerprinting Services Offered on Campus

Passport and Fingerprinting Services Offered on Campus

Campus Mail Service recently expanded its operations and has been designated as a Passport Acceptance Facility of the U.S. Department of State. The operation also has partnered with 3M Cogent to be a fingerprinting site to provide statewide access to applicant fingerprint processing services for fingerprint-based background checks.

The Fingerprinting and Passport Acceptance Facility is located at the front entrance to the new Printing and Mail Services facility on the Bryce campus at 325 Kirkbride Lane. It provides services to UA students, faculty, staff and the greater Tuscaloosa community.

Passports

The facility accepts completed passport applications and forwards them to the U.S. Department of State for an issuance determination. Passport applications are available on-site. The facility charges a $25 execution fee and passport photos can be made for an additional fee of $15. Customers should call 348-2054 to schedule an appointment. Appointments are available Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. until noon. Walk-ins are welcome from noon until 3 p.m. (except for University holidays).

Fingerprinting

Fingerprinting applicants are responsible for their own registration through 3M Cogent prior to being fingerprinted. Applicants pay online during registration using a debit or credit card.  No cash, credit card or business checks are accepted. 3M Cogent requires current, valid and unexpired picture identification documents. As a primary form of picture identification, a state-issued driver’s license may be presented by an applicant when being fingerprinted. No appointment is necessary.

Customers visiting the facility may park in complimentary parking spaces at the front of the building.
