UA Ranks Fourth Among Military-Friendly Colleges

The University of Alabama ranks fourth in the latest list of 22 military-friendly colleges released by www.bestcolleges.com.

Among the reasons for UA’s high ranking, according to the website:  “The University of Alabama maintains a partnership program with GoArmyEd that is designed for first-time students with a military background; each student will be paired with an Army Education Counselor to help with college application and admissions, course registration, tuition payments and other key steps for academic success.”

The Office of Veteran and Military Affairs at UA also offers students VetSuccess, a program that connects licensed vocational counselors with military students and dependents; the VITAL initiative aimed at improving health services for student veterans; and the Textbooks for Troops free textbook loan program.
