New Merit System Helps UA Students List Achievements

New Merit System Helps UA Students List Achievements

University of Alabama students this semester will have a new tool to display their achievements to the world – Merit pages.

Each UA student now will have her or his own Merit web page. The pages will display student achievements entered by the University’s administration – the Dean’s List, President’s List and other honors – through the display of a “Merit badge” and a brief article.

Once the achievement is sent out through press releases and email notifications, students will receive an email with the badge and a link to their Merit page.

Students may personalize their Merit page by creating their own URL, adding photos, importing information from Linkedin and listing their own individual achievements and work experience. They also may connect their pages to their favorite social media sites. Or they have the option of opting out entirely.

Merit pages represent an exciting new tool students can use to connect with potential employers.  UA students can find out more about how Merit works at https://strategiccommunications.ua.edu/resources/merit and directly access their Merit pages at http://ua.meritpages.com/. When a new Merit badge appears, students will get an email and can follow the email link to the new Merit page.
