Open Forums for Executive Vice President and Provost Candidates Begin Next Week

All members of The University of Alabama campus community are invited to attend public presentations by each of the finalists for the position of executive vice president and provost.

The first candidate, Dr. Jennifer Evans-Cowley, will give a public presentation from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 21, in 1012 North Lawn Hall. A one-hour reception will follow.

Evans-Cowley is the vice provost for capital planning and regional campuses and a professor of city and regional planning at the Knowlton School of Architecture at The Ohio State University. She previously served as the associate dean of academic affairs and administration for the College of Engineering. Her research regularly appears in planning journals, and she is the author of four Planning Advisory Service Reports for the American Planning Association. Evans-Cowley has a bachelor’s degree in political science and a master of urban planning from Texas A&M University, and a master of public administration from the University of North Texas. Her doctorate in urban and regional science is from Texas A&M University.

Future open forums with the additional candidates are scheduled for the same time and location on Nov. 28, Nov. 30 and Dec. 1, respectively.

For those who cannot attend the open forums, video of the candidates’ presentations will be posted a day or two after the presentations on the search website.
