Beginning Jan. 1, 2017, The Office of Information Technology will no longer support email or websites hosted on the Bama Host Server (bama.ua.edu). Bama.ua.edu email addresses will continue to work as normal, but BamaMail mailboxes and existing websites hosted on the Bama server will be unavailable.
OIT is currently working with faculty, staff and departments to transfer Bama email accounts to Exchange accounts. All websites hosted on the Bama server will be transitioned to the new service, people.ua.edu.
Faculty with existing websites on the Bama server should move their website to people.ua.edu as soon as possible. If you have any questions regarding the new people.ua.edu initiative, visit people.ua.edu or contact Karen Burns in CIT-Multimedia Services at 348-8016.
Staff with websites on the retired Bama server should refer to their department for future web hosting services.
All remaining email and websites on the Bama server will officially be archived on Jan. 1, 2017. The retirement of the Bama server does not affect CrimsonMail accounts or Exchange email accounts.
