UA Offers Incentive Program for Student Organizations

The University of Alabama’s Office of Student Involvement has created a new incentive program for student organizations on campus called The Foundation.

The goal of the program is to prepare student organizations and their leaders to be effective in their respective fields as well as to be better advocates for their causes.

The Foundation offers student organizations incentives to have their members participate in leadership training. Organizations are able to qualify for incentives by completing “pillars” through  training sessions offered by the University in such areas  as Safe Zone training, bystander intervention training, poverty simulations and several other options.

There are four incentive levels that student organizations can reach. They reach bronze upon hosting an informational session for members. The next level, silver, is reached when the executive officers of the organization have completed some form of training. The gold level is reached when more than four members, or 10 percent of the group’s membership, have been trained. Lastly, organizations can reach crimson if they complete more than one pillar of The Foundation.

The SOURCE hopes these incentives will encourage student organizations to be more engaged and continue to complete the helpful trainings offered by the University.
