UA to Hold Summer Commencement Exercises

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — The University of Alabama will hold its summer commencement exercises Aug. 6 at Coleman Coliseum on the UA campus.

The ceremony begins at 9 a.m. More than 1,500 diplomas are scheduled to be awarded to undergraduate and graduate students from all colleges and schools.

Donna Meester, UA associate professor of theatre and president of the Faculty Senate, will serve as mace bearer. Meester is the director of costume design/production at The University of Alabama and costume commissioner for the United States Institute for Theatre Design/Technology.

The ceremony will be broadcast live over the Internet. The webcast will be archived at ua.edu/commencement/, and it will be available for viewing for 30 days following the ceremony.
