Sales: The “S” Word Every PR Professional Should Be Using
PRSSA.org – Aug. 3
Let’s talk about the “s word” that every public relations professional should add to his or her vocabulary — sales. Though it may seem like a dirty word for those on the creative side, sales are what keep a public relations agency running. Public relations work is a service bought by clients, and they want to get the best results for what they pay. While an agency can produce top-notch campaigns, its clients won’t be satisfied unless it can prove that the campaign met a goal or delivered value. Agencies are bound to fail without the ability to sell its services and turn clients into repeat customers. Successful agencies are able to perform well, show the value of their work and keep clients coming back for more. MARK HUGHES COBB: The war on decay takes energy
Tuscaloosa News – Aug. 3
If your thermal energy fails to convert into work, you might just be suffering from entropy. If in attempting to measure the worth of your system, you return a figure on the degree of disorder or randomness, you might just be entropically afflicted. Should you note the lack of order or predictability in a system — a life, relationship, job — heralding a gradual decline into disorder, you might just be an observer of the entropic principle … Brilliant, beautiful and talented students from the University of Alabama Department of Theatre and Dance are, on or about this moment — six hours’ difference — dancing an original creation titled “co/lapse,” built around entropy, at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Six choreographers took that theme and ran — capered, careened, cavorted — with it.
