DEADLINES

Project Health Peer applications, April 1
Gamma Greek Peer applications, April 1

ANNOUNCEMENTS

As previously communicated, students with outstanding balances will not be eligible to register for classes in future terms. Any Spring Semester 2016 or prior-term balance must be paid before a student will be able to register for summer or fall classes. Students with outstanding balances will have registration holds. Students should frequently monitor their accounts and take action to ensure balances are paid before the next registration period opens. More information: Student Account Services at 348-5350 or studentaccounts@fa.ua.edu.

The Office of Student Receivables and the Office of Loans Receivable and Collection have combined to form Student Account Services. The new office will be responsible for billing student charges and collecting payments and approving all revenue-generating activities for University departments. The website for the new Student Account Services is https://studentaccounts.ua.edu.

The Office of Information Technology warns everyone to be cautious of emails or phone calls claiming to be from the Internal Revenue Service. The IRS does not send emails or make phone calls to taxpayers regarding problems with taxpayers’ taxes or tax returns. If a problem exists, the IRS will notify a taxpayer by letter sent through the U.S. Postal Service. OIT recommends that such emails be deleted and phone calls ignored. More information: https://www.irs.gov/uac/Tax-Scams-Consumer-Alerts.

The Human Services Summit is accepting presentation submissions from UA undergraduate and graduate students on a variety of human services topics. The summit will be held June 10 at UA’s Bryant Conference Center. More information: http://training.ua.edu/humanservices. Student scholarships to attend the conference are also available. More information: Pamela Harvey at pharvey@ccs.ua.edu.
