UA Offers Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity Conference

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Some 500 undergraduate students at The University of Alabama will have an opportunity to highlight their research and creative projects during the Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity Conference on campus.

The ninth annual conference, hosted by UA’s Office of the Vice President for Research and Economic Development, will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, March 30, in the Ferguson Student Center. All students, faculty and staff are invited to attend.

Students will compete for cash prizes and gain experience in presenting and defending their research projects to a panel of judges in both oral and poster presentation forms. In preparation for the event, students are paired with faculty mentors who help guide them through the development of their projects.

Morning poster presentations begin at 8 a.m., followed by the first round of oral presentations at 9 a.m. Afternoon poster and oral presentations start at 1 p.m.

An awards luncheon will be on Monday, April 11, in the south end zone of Bryant Denny Stadium.
