Ribbon Cutting to Open Intercultural Diversity Center on UA’s Campus

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — The University of Alabama will have a ribbon cutting ceremony at 6 p.m. Monday, Feb. 1, to open an Intercultural Diversity Center.

The center is located on the first floor of the Riverside Community Center.

“The Intercultural Diversity Center was envisioned by students to increase cultural awareness and provide resources for increasing inclusion and collaboration on the UA campus,” said Dr. David L. Grady, UA vice president for student affairs. “It will be available to students, faculty and staff.

“The center will also collaborate with other departments and organizations on campus to provide programming to create a supportive and empowering atmosphere for all members of the UA community,” said Grady.

Student leaders who have been instrumental in the creation and opening of the Intercultural Diversity Center will host the event.

Projected hours of operation will be 11 a.m. -10 p.m., Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Fridays and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays with after-hours and Sundays available by appointment.
