The Office of Information Technology will soon replace the uninterruptible power supply (UPS) in the data center because of a manufacturer’s fault that could cause a sudden UPS failure. The failure would result in a loss of power to the data center. Beginning at 9 p.m. on Dec. 19, all Internet-network access, services and applications will be unavailable until Dec. 20 at noon. If you have any questions or concerns, contact the IT Service Desk at itsd@ua.edu or 348-5555.

The northbound driving lane of Hackberry Lane by the biology building will be closed Dec. 21 because of construction. Flagmen will be located in the area to provide assistance. Contact Joe Cobb at 205-523-2160 or jocobb@fa.ua.edu for more information.

Until mid-January, the sidewalk on the south side of Bryant Drive, from Tutwiler Hall to Eighth Avenue, will be closed for underground utility work on the west side of Tutwiler Hall in connection with the construction of a new retail center. Pedestrians should access the sidewalk on the opposite side of Bryant Drive by crossing at lighted intersections and legal crosswalks.
