ANNOUNCEMENTS

The University of Alabama will host the Alabama state high school football championships at Bryant-Denny Stadium Wednesday, Dec. 2-Friday, Dec. 4. The event will affect parking and traffic on campus. Certain parking lots near the stadium will close; other lots will have restricted access. Colonial Drive and Wallace Wade Avenue will be closed all three days. Crimson Ride routes will also be affected; riders should expect delays. Complete information is available on the UA Parking Services website. Questions or concerns should be directed to Ralph Clayton at rclayton@fa.ua.edu or 348-9828.

Weather permitting, the University will test UA Alerts, the emergency public address system and digital signage at 11:55 a.m. the first Wednesday of each month. The test will last approximately 30 seconds and should not be disruptive. Immediately following at noon, the Tuscaloosa Emergency Management Agency will test the outdoor tornado sirens, weather permitting.

Until mid-January, the sidewalk on the south side of Bryant Drive, from Tutwiler Hall to Eighth Avenue, will be closed for underground utility work on the west side of Tutwiler Hall in connection with the construction of a new retail center. Pedestrians should access the sidewalk on the opposite side of Bryant Drive by crossing at lighted intersections and legal crosswalks.
