ANNOUNCEMENTS

Students may have recently received a phishing email titled “Faculty Administrator Announcement” with a link that takes users to a page that looks like the myBama login page. This is not an official UA page, according to UA’s Office of Information Technology. The email is attempting to steal information. Students should not click the link and should immediately delete the email.

Memorial service will honor UA students. The Offices of the President, the Office of the Dean of Students and the Student Government Association invites the campus community and the public to a service in memory of UA students Sabrina M. Kelley, Lindsey R. Smith, Jessica “Jess” Phillips, Peyton S. Trueblood and Corbyn Kelly Wile. The memorial service will be held at Denny Chimes on Wednesday, Nov. 18, from 4 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

UA students who need access to University Libraries‘ electronic resources while traveling outside the United States should verify the status of access from within their country of destination prior to the trip, according to the Office of Library Technology. OLT can provide temporary access to areas currently without access. To verify access, send an email to ierm@ua.edu with your destinations and the dates of your stay. OLT will set your access in advance of your travel. Should you have a problem accessing resources at any time, submit the problem to http://www.lib.ua.edu/forms/login-problem-report-form.

Student Opinions of Instruction course-evaluation surveys for Fall Semester 2015 run Nov. 16-Dec. 6. SOI allows students to confidentially rate their UA learning experiences and encourages feedback about their courses and instructors. Students can select either the standard or the mobile view of SOI. Confidential reports of survey results are provided to UA faculty and administrators after all grades are submitted. Student ratings are important in helping instructors improve their teaching and in helping the University evaluate courses and faculty. Visit the SOI website at http://oira.ua.edu/soi or send an email to soi@ua.edu for more information.

The University has launched a new website that focuses on delivering content of interest to undergraduate and prospective students. Undergraduate is a new content channel on the UA News suite of websites. Among the current content is a “Find Your Passion” story about Nathan Craft, “A Nice Guy Who Won’t Finish Last.”
