ANNOUNCEMENTS

UA’s Equity in Athletics Disclosure Act report is available. By Oct. 15 of each year, each coeducational institution of higher education that participates in any federal student aid program and has an intercollegiate athletic program must prepare an Equity in Athletics Disclosure Act (EADA) report and make it available upon request to students, potential students and the public. The University of Alabama Department of Athletics’ report for the Equity in Athletics Disclosure Act is available upon request at the following locations: Office of Intercollegiate Athletics and Office of University Relations. The report can be accessed on the Internet at https://eada.ia.ua.edu. A paper copy of the report will be provided upon request by contacting the Office of University Relations.

The Higher Education Act of 1965 requires institutions to make certain information available to the campus community and general public. The University has established a website, http://www.ua.edu/academic/hea, to compile and disclose in one location pertinent information related to the HEA’s requirements. For more information, read the Higher Education Act Compliance Memorandum from Dr. Kevin Whitaker, UA’s interim provost.

These reports are required by federal law and contain policy statements and crime statistics and, for UA, applicable fire safety policies and procedures. These reports also address policies, procedures and programs concerning safety and security (e.g., policies for responding to emergency situations and sexual offenses). Three years of statistics are included for certain types of crimes that were reported to have occurred on campus, in or on off-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by the school, and on public property within or immediately adjacent to the campus. The UA and Gadsden Center reports are available online to view or print at safety.ua.edu. You may also request a paper copy of either report from The University of Alabama Police Department’s Office of Community Services by telephone at 205-348-8361, by email at ua.police@ua.edu or by U.S. Postal Service at Box 870180, Tuscaloosa, AL 35487-0180.
