CAMPUS SAFETY
National Hazing Prevention Week is Sept. 21-25. The University of Alabama is committed to providing a safe environment for our students, employees and campus visitors. Available resources include the following:
- Safer Living Guide, the University’s publication that outlines safety procedures and services;
- UAct, a website that includes a list of reporting channels and definitions of hazing and harassment;
- Rave Guardian, a service available through mybama.ua.edu or UA’s mobile app store that works through your cellphone to provide instant access to the police department and allows you to set up your own personal virtual escort service;
- Women and Gender Resource Center, a place that fosters a community of social justice, safety, diversity, leadership, and education; and
- UA’s 24-hour hazing and harassment hotline at 205-348-HALT (4258), which allows students, parents or others to report incidents of discrimination, harassment, hazing or any kind of unhealthy behavior.
UA has created a “Should You Act: Intervention Training” link on the UAct website. The site contains three videos to help you decide whether you should take action in situations that may involve sexual assault.
GAME-DAY INFORMATION
Game — The Crimson Tide football team will face the University of Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks Saturday, Sept. 26, at 3 p.m. in Bryant-Denny Stadium. The game will be televised on the SEC Network.
Tickets — MyTickets is the student-ticket system at UA. You can access student tickets through myBama or the UA Mobile app with your student login.
Parking — Vehicles must be removed from the following parking lots and roads by 5 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 25, in preparation for the Saturday, Sept. 26, football game in Bryant-Denny Stadium:

- Southern half of the Coleman Coliseum Lot — Southeast Commuter

Earn a chance to win a semester’s tuition scholarship and improve air quality at the same time. Students can have their vehicle’s emission tested for free as part of the PACECAR program developed by the Student Government Association and the Partnership for Affordable Clean Energy. Tests will be offered Oct. 6, Oct. 21 and Nov. 10, between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., at the University garage at 1227 14th St. Students whose cars fail the test could be eligible for financial assistance to bring their vehicles into compliance. The University now has an Instagram account in addition to Facebook and Twitter. Also, Vimeo and YouTube videos are now easier to access via the new icons that have been placed on the UA home page.
Students, faculty and staff have immediate access to EndNote and NVivo. Endnote, a citation and research-management tool, is available on Windows and Mac. NVivo is a tool designed for analyzing unstructured data using search, query and visualization tools.
