‘Forever Crimson’ Theme of 2015 UA Homecoming

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — The University of Alabama’s annual Homecoming celebration runs from Sunday, Oct. 4, to Saturday, Oct. 10.

This year’s theme is “Forever Crimson: Faithful, Loyal, Firm and True.” For details on Homecoming events, registration and tickets, go to https://homecoming.sa.ua.edu/.

The highlight of Homecoming Week will be the UA football game against the University of Arkansas Saturday, Oct 10. Kickoff time is 6 p.m.

UA will crown the 2015 Homecoming Queen during halftime, and the Student Government Association Homecoming Committee will award the Spirit Cup to the student group that receives the most spirit points during Homecoming Week.

Additional highlights include the annual pep rally and bonfire and the Homecoming Parade. The bonfire and pep rally begin at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9, on the UA Quad. The Homecoming Parade will start at 1 p.m. Oct. 10 in downtown Tuscaloosa and move eastward along University Boulevard through the UA campus. Dana Duckworth, head coach of UA gymnastics, will be grand marshal.

All Alabama alumni, friends and fans are invited to attend Tailgatin’ with the Tide BBQ at 3 p.m. Oct 10. Tickets are $15 each and may be bought in advance here.

The week’s festivities will begin Sunday, Oct. 4, with the annual Roll Tide Run. Registration and check-in will be at 3 p.m. at University Boulevard and Colonial Drive. The race will begin at 4:15 p.m. at University Boulevard and Colonial Drive.

The Crimson Kickoff Powder Puff Football Competition, benefiting Caring for Camo, will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 4 at UA Recreation Fields. Registration fees are $100 a team.

Paint the Town Red material pickup will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, Oct. 5, at Student Involvement Office. Students may show their UA school spirit across Tuscaloosa. Judging will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 8.

Homecoming Queen Elections will be from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 6. In addition, the LifeSouth Blood Drive will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 7, to Friday, Oct. 9, in the Ferguson Center.

The Tile Competition will continue through Oct. 9. Students, organizations, and community members are encouraged to decorate a tile in the theme of Homecoming. The tiles will be displayed on a frame in front of the Rose Administration building. Judging will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 9, at the Ferguson Center.

The Homecoming Step Show will be at 8:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9, at Coleman Coliseum. Tickets are $12 to $18.  The National Pan-Hellenic Council hosts the event. For tickets, go here.
