ANNOUNCEMENTS

As a follow-up to the recent warnings from local law enforcement officials about the dangers of synthetic marijuana, students are urged to be the friends they would want to have and educate themselves about the dangers of the drug. Commonly called Spice, officials report synthetic marijuana can cause users to be dangers to themselves and others. The drug can cause hallucinations and seizures and can be deadly.

Student Opinions of Instruction course-evaluation surveys for Spring Semester 2015 will run until April 26 for most of the campus. Surveys for classes in the School of Social Work extend to May 3. SOIs allow students to confidentially rate their UA learning experiences and encourage feedback about their courses and instructors. Students can select either the standard or the mobile view of SOI. Confidential reports of survey results are provided to UA faculty and administrators after all grades are submitted. Visit the SOI website at http://oira.ua.edu/soi/soi_info.html or send an email to soi@ua.edu for more information.

UA’s Parking and Transportation Committee reminds all vehicle operators that vehicles should never access pedestrian areas, including sidewalks and accessible areas. This reminder applies to all vehicles, including state, construction, vendor, golf carts and bicycles. Any vehicle illegally parked or operating in an area designed for pedestrians creates potential for a hazardous environment. Visit http://bamaparking.ua.edu/regulations to review the current policy for campus traffic and parking.
