“Corrie Harris is helping us to bring the Academic Affairs and Student Affairs domains together by taking on this new position,” said Dr. Hank Lazer, associate provost and Creative Campus director.

Harris has already been instrumental in strengthening Creative Campus’s partnership with University Programs, Housing and Residential Communities and the SGA. A fourth of her time is devoted to working with Creative Campus.

“Her position is an exciting experiment that creates a pipeline for faculty and staff working in other divisions and departments to affiliate with Creative Campus, a division of Academic Affairs.  Creative Campus anticipates establishing other similar opportunities for faculty and staff to develop a new area of expertise or to apply a favorite passion by working with Creative Campus’s talented group of graduate and undergraduate interns,” Lazer noted.

Through her role in the Office of Student Involvement and Leadership, Harris helps students identify and pursue their interests through outside-the-classroom learning experiences. In this capacity, she also develops programs to mentor students, coordinates Freshman Forum and Capstone Creed Week, and advises the Student Leadership Council.

Harris brings leadership development experience to enhance the impact of the Creative Campus intern experience, Lazer adds. Her integration of the Gallup StrengthsQuest model has helped students identify and capitalize on  strengths as well as make contributions to the formation of intern teams. And, with the scope of her position in Student Affairs, her existing relationships with faculty, staff and student groups are already producing links for new collaborations for Creative Campus, he says.

Harris also has classroom teaching experience that includes working with freshman learning communities, freshman seminars and Compass courses, and teaching a University Honors leadership course.
