Phi Eta Sigma Scholarships Awarded to Top UA Students

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Phi Eta Sigma national honor society has awarded scholarships to four students at The University of Alabama.

Scholarship recipients include:

Mary Kathryn Brock of Birmingham (zip code 35242) has received a $6,000 national scholarship. Brock served as Phi Eta Sigma junior adviser for the UA chapter during the 2008-2009 academic year.

Brad Caleb Lee of Wilsonville has received a $6,000 national scholarship.  Lee served as Phi Eta Sigma president for the UA chapter during the 2008-2009 academic year.

Danielle Barth of Pelham has received a $1,000 national scholarship. Barth served as Phi Eta Sigma historian for the UA chapter during the 2007-2008 academic year.

Jessica Thames of Mobile has received a $1,500 local chapter scholarship. Thames served as Phi Eta Sigma secretary/historian for the UA chapter during the 2008-2009 academic year.

Phi Eta Sigma was founded in 1923 to encourage and recognize high scholastic achievement among members of college freshman classes. Full-time freshmen with a 3.5 GPA are eligible for membership.
