ACRE’s Glaze Elected Secretary of IREM State Chapter; Luncheon to Introduce UA Students to Real Estate Management

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Grayson Glaze, executive director of the Alabama Center for Real Estate, has been elected secretary of the Alabama Chapter of the Institute of Real Estate Management.

The Alabama Chapter is a professional organization made up of persons interested in the management of real estate. Glaze also will serve the organization nationally as the vice-chair of the Student and Academic Outreach Advisory Board.

Chapter meetings feature speakers on a wide variety of topics, and members receive a quarterly newsletter, access to all member services of IREM National and IREMFirst, including the chapter membership directory and free download of professional materials, the opportunity to post job positions openings for their facilities, and a place to post resumes for those seeking employment in the industry.

The Alabama Center for Real Estate will host a student luncheon Feb. 17 on the fourth floor at Alston Hall to introduce interested University of Alabama students to the Institute of Real Estate Management and careers in real estate management. The event is free and will begin at 12:15 p.m.

Glaze holds a bachelor’s degree in finance with a concentration in real estate from UA and a law degree from the Birmingham School of Law.

Before joining ACRE as executive director, Glaze was employed with Carter Real Estate as general manager of SouthBridge in Birmingham. In 2008, he earned the Certified Property Manager professional designation from IREM and the Certified Commercial Investment Member professional designation from the CCIM Institute.

The Alabama Center for Real Estate is part of The Culverhouse College of Commerce and Business Administration which was established in 1919. In 1929, the business school became the 38th school to earn admission into the American Association of Collegiate Schools of Business. The excellence of the UA business school has been acknowledged on a national level. The undergraduate program is ranked 29th among public universities by U.S. News and the Culverhouse School of Accountancy is ranked 15th among public universities by U.S. News. The graduate accounting program is ranked 15th and the undergraduate program 14th by Public Accounting Report. The entrepreneurship program is ranked No. 18 by Entrepreneur Magazine.
